Wilkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome, C'mon In.... (Lily
Von Schtupp[Madeline Kahn], Blazing Saddles)
Well, 2003 has been a different kind of year, that's for sure. Tony
gained and lost weight, Bob travelled a whole lot, Chicago, New York,
Key West...
This Halloween will mark our 10th anniversary and, since it also falls
on a Friday night, fun out on the town. We'll also be celebrating Tony's
50th birthday (ack!) with dinner and partying with friends.
We lost our 14 year old Tasha in August, which was very difficult for
us.
Through it all, we have made some new friends and have managed to have
some fun. We've been remiss at updating these pages, but then we're
just lazy that way, I guess.
Some of our old pages will be linked here until we have them updated,
so please come back regularly to check on them, okay?
If you have any comment or suggestions drop us a note, we'll be glad
to listen.. Bob'n'Tony

"When
I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and
love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a
time they seem invincible but in the end, they always fall -- think
of it, ALWAYS." - Mahatma Gandhi

March 19 the swallows return to Capistrano. Well,
not all of them. Some of them return to San Diego and this nest on a
neighbor's house.

Part of the San Diego skyline looking
west towards Point Loma, off in the hazy distance. We should probably
take a new picture since the skyline has changed dramatically
in the 6+ years since we moved here.
When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced...
Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice

San Diego Pride 2002 Well, I didn't feel like lugging
the camera for miles and miles this year, but the folks at the
HP tent took this picture of our group. From l to r: David, Larry,
Bill, Kenaan and Tony.

The Midday Sun on October 28th, the 3rd day of
the wildfires in San Diego County. The sun never got any brighter
than this and the entire day was a curious yellow....
Neighborhood birth announcement. This
poor bird must have been exhausted from travelling around the
neighborhood last year when it seemed that everyone who was capable
of breeding decided to do so at the same time
.
AIDS Walk San Diego
October 7, 2001 was a beautiful day for a walk, cool & cloudy
giving way to sunny and just warm enough. There were young
people handing out water and pieces of fruit on all of the street
corners. You know, if they did that everyday, more people
would get out and take a walk
Although AIDS walk is an annual event for us, we don't usually
take a camera along, so enjoy these pictures from a couple of
years ago.

Sweet Home San Diego..... We love it here. If you
want to know some of the reasons check back here. We couldn't
post all of the reasons because we can't afford the server space....
but over time we hope to show you many of the things we love.
One thing that we love is the climate that just can't be beat
anywhere in the world. We have no "real" winters, with moderate
temperatures in the 60'sF/15+C all winter.
Summer brings very little discomfort with most temperatures in
the 70'sF/20'sC at the coast. If you can complain about
that, then you're just too whiny to live.
It has been cooler than average so far this year. Every year
we have May Gray and June Gloom, terms of endearment to describe
the heavy morning and evening marine layer conditions. We say
endearment because the marine layer has a major moderating influence
on the climate here, keeping us cooler in the day and warmer and
night.
We've lived in this house for more than 4 years now. We
had an open house a few months after we moved in, on July 25,
1999. We did a page about it at the time,
but some of the full sized pictures are hither and yon, to be
discovered later. If you would like to see the page with its (rather
large) thumbnails.....
Bob with Aunt Fay and Uncle Jim on February 5, 2002. Aunt Fay
& Uncle Jim came to visit from near Sacramento in their land
yacht for a couple of days and brought some brilliant weather
with them.
Gliders catching the breeze at Torrey Pines Hanglider Port, one
of the more scenic sites in San Diego.
All About Our Little Dog
(We know, we know...)
They say you shouldn't do a web page devoted to a dog, but we've
gone and done it anyway.
Sadly our Tasha passed away on August 23, 2003 but not before
having a major impact on our lives. She was a smart, cute and,
at times, funny presence. We'll miss her but we know that no dog
every had it so good.
We have a page devoted to just pictures of our Tasha, but if
you find our fawning over our little dog a bit too much, then
don't go there. If you are interested in seeing the pictures,
please click here.
Oh You've got to Have Friends, the feeling's oh so strong.....
Here are some of ours.
Some have links, some do not yet and some never ever will.
All of them have made a difference in our lives in some way.
Links, links, links, links....
Check out this page for our
favorite bookmarksand links and a few lines about our favorite
TV shows with links, too.

Missed San Diego Pride?
...Then you missed one helluva party! You should have been
there on July 28th, 2001 for San Diego Gay Pride .
110,000 people watched the parade this year and we got to see it
from the home of Derrick , who hosted a party with his partner Danny
and his friend Keith right on the parade route.
The parade lasted over three hours and it was the first time we
have ever enjoyed the entire parade from the first "dykes on bikes"
to the last out of town float, mostly owing to Derrick and Danny
and their wonderful hospitality. You can enjoy a parade if
you can eat, drink and go to the bathroom during those way too frequent
lags in between floats.
Our friends Kenaan and Wally stayed at our place for the weekend
and Wally brought his boyfriend Mario along for the first time.
I'm sure they were a little nervous but there was no need, we all
loved Mario like crazy!
It was a great weekend all the way around. Good friends, good
weather, good times.
